Forrest Rogers is the founder and first promoter of Grandview Speedway. Forrest Rogers built Grandview Speedway on his 105 acre farm property. After a racing club’s proposal to build a .250-mile high banked paved oval on the site fell through, Rogers carved out the .333-mile high-banked clay track and opened it on August 11, 1963. Less than three years later, Rogers died suddenly of heart attack. His son Bruce Rogers eventually became the track owner.
Today Grandview Speedway is one of the jewels of the Pennsylvania racing scene. Over the years, the track has attracted and grown a loyal fan base and many of the areas top dirt track drivers. |
