Mitch Smith was born Dec 5 1930 in Lingelstown PA. He married his wife Nancy in 1959.
Smith started his racing career at Gold Mine Speedway in Tower City PA. After several years of success at Nazerath, Heildelberg and Silver Spring in a Sportsman, he moved up to the Super-Modified division at Williams Grove. He became known as a driver to beat at Williams Grove, Susquehanna, Port Royal and Selingsgrove.
His #2 Chevy was painted orange with black stripes with the word "TIGERRR" on the hood. |
